Earlier this week i was able to attend and work at the incredible Insomnia 65 Gaming Festival. Here i was able to get an inside look at some up and coming unreleased games, a range of independant VR companies and an insight to the Cosplay scene!
Spread over 3 days and 4 nights this is the ultimate gaming festival. I was rather impressed with some of the stands at the show. As always Nintendo reigned supreme with their gigantic area including the competition stage, tournament area and many smaller stations with many games on offer to try for yourself. Although some ques had similar waiting times as your favourite roller coaster people of all ages waited in line with massive smiles on their faces excited to try out some exclusive titles such as Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.
Another incredible stand was Borderlands 3 which is probably the most anticipated title this year being released on September 13th! Here they were showcasing a twenty minute Mouthpiece Demo giving the public a little taster of what is set to be the biggest game of the year.
The most impressive game that i found at Insomnia 65 was a company called HADO. Not only is it and Augmented Reality Game it is also an international X Sport which combines physical and AR elements to produce a japanese style game of DodgeBall but instead of throwing physical balls you can charge up and throw AR fire balls as if you were in DragonBall Z.
